On December 4, 2024, students from the Department of Life Sciences and Computational Biology visited Poodamkallu Taluk Hospital as part of an educational program. Dr. Parvathi E, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, successfully defended her PhD thesis, " Systematic, Microscopic, and Spectroscopic Investigations of Adsorption Behaviour of Organic/Inorganic Pollutants in Water through GO/rGO Nanosheets and its Composites ,". Her research is backed by an impressive eight international indexed publications.
The valedictory ceremony for the Rubber Tapping Training Programme was held on October 15, 2024, marking the conclusion of the eight-day training programme.Participants were awarded certificates upon successfully completing the training programme. Additionally, prizes (rubber tapping kit) were presented to those who achieved the top two positions in the the training programme.

The Department of Life Sciences and Computational Biology organized a photography contest on 29/7/2024 to commemorate World Nature Conservation Day. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation through the lens of student creativity. Bodhi Club, Sargasamgamam and Library of the college conducted a commemorative event dedicated to the renowned Malayalam poet and lyricist Sri. Vayalar Ramavarma on the 27th of October 2023, in the Seminar Hall of the college starting at 2:00 pm. The highlight of the event was a singing competition that revolved around songs composed by Vayalar himself. The competition featured the performance of 10 talented students. The panel of judges included Dr. Jijikumari T, the Head of the Department of Development Economics, Dr. Vinod N V, the Head of the Department of Microbiology, and Ms. Unnimaya, an alumna of the college. An online Quiz program titled ‘Independence Day Quiz 2021’ was conducted by SPEF on 15 th August 2021 at 10:30 am as a part of India’s 75 TH Independence Day celebration. The 15 minutes quiz program with 30 questions was intended for students in the college only. Owing to the cooperation received from all the 7 departments of the college the program was a success with the participation of 46 students from various departments. The winners of the Quiz Programme are Aswin.S- 3 rd DC Physics, Parvathy S Nair- 2 nd DC Economics and Arun P 3 rd DC Physics securing first second and third positions respectively.
The PG Department of Development Economics conducted a Student Development Programme( SDP) a certificate programme of ten days from 19th July 2021 to 30 July 2021 on Mutual Funds,Share marketing , and it's functioning - in association with Bombay Stock Exchange Broker's Forum - Make them Employable. Bhoomithrasena Club and Nature Club of St. Pius X College Rajapuram jointly organized an awareness program ‘Ente Puzha’ on March 22 nd - the world water day. College principal Dr. George Mammen inaugurated the program. Mr. Eby Emmanuel P, Secretary ‘Kerala Nadee Samrakshana Samithi’ was the resource person. He is the co-ordinator of the Meenachil river rejuvenation campaign. Mr. Eby talked about the importance of protecting a river and motivated the students by sharing his 26 years of experience in this field. As a part of the world water day celebrations our students have made videos and presentations describing a river in their locality. They elucidated the present condition of the river and gave suggestions to rejuvenate it in case the river is polluted. The students conversed their findings with Mr. Eby Emmanuel and clarified their doubts. Dr.Sinosh Skariachan (Assistant Professor, St. Pius X College, Rajapuarm) was the moderator and host for the program and provided an introduction of the program. Dr. Sarala Gopalakrishnan (Associate Professor& Head, Department of Microbiology) welcomed the guests and participants of the webinar. Around 80 participants including students and faculty members from various colleges of Kannur University, alumni members of the Dept of Microbiology from various foreign countries and also from India had attended the program. Feedback was collected from the participants upon completion of the program. Printable e-certificates were given to all the participants those who had attended the webinar.

The resource person for the webinar, Dr. Binukumar G was an eminent scientist from Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bangalore. He shared his knowledge and research results on matter and radiation that exists in the space with the curious minds of the participants. The spectrum of participants includes graduate students, post graduate students, research scholars and faculties from various science discipline. Nearly 130 participants were there on this program and among them, around 30 participants are from outside the state/country. Further, the participantshave actively taken part in the discussion section on the talk. Hiroshima Nagasaki days were celebrated on August 6th and 9th by the NSS units of St.Pius X College Rajapuram.As a part of this programme NSS volunteers made sadako birds from their homes.M Sreehari,NSS volunteer secretary of the college and a second year computer science student conveyed a video message on the Hiroshima Nagasaki events highighting the significance of the days.NSS programme officers Dr.NV Vinod And Parvathi.E led the activities.

In his class he talked about the importance of getting a government job. He also shared his experience in cracking PSC examination. Blood Bank of Yenepoya Medical College Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangaluru collected the blood. More than 100 students registered. About 62 students and 2 staff donated the blood.
Keeping in view to reduce the use of plastic products, to promote recycling of used pens, and to make awareness among the students and the society about the harmful effects of plastics; Green Kerala Mission introduced a Pen-Friend Project in Kerala. The Bhoomitrasena, in association with N.S.S unit., St. Pius X College, Rajapuram has collected nearly 24 kg of used pens from the students as well as from the staff and handed over to the Kanjhangad Sub-collector Mr. Arun Kumar Vijayan on January 09; 2020. NSS Seven day camp held at Kottody GHSS from 20/12/2019 to 26/12/2019. Dr. Mukundan Nair G , Principal GHSS Kottody Inaugurated the camp. Many programs were organized for the volunteers. Solar eclipse watch was one among them. Kallar Panchayath president and members visits the camp and distribute sweets for the volunteers.
The formation of the English Club, “The House of English” was conducted on 13/19/2019 at 1:30 PM in the reading room of the college library. The club aims at improving the English language skills of the students. Ms. Anupriya, Department of English welcomed the gathering. Science Club, in association with Physics Department, St. Pius X College,Rajapuram has conducted the ‘Energy Conservation Day Awareness programme’ to mark the‘Energy Conservation Day’celebration at the college on 13th December 2019. The awareness section was inaugurated by Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex, the Principal of the college. Ms. Parvathy. E (Convener, Science Club) given the awareness talk to the students participated. Along with Ms. Parvathi E, Dr.Monisha P J and Dr.Shiju Abraham given the necessary tips to the students which could help them to bring the energy consumption down at the campus as well as at the home. Further, the energy conservation oath was taken by the students under the leadership of Mr. Jyothish, second DC physics student. Students gave brief energy conservation talk in different class rooms to spread the awareness throughout the campus. Along with this, students were made in different squad to check whether the switches in the class rooms are OFF during the intervals. Finally, students are entitled with an energy conservation assignment to reduce the electricity bill during the next four months in their homes.

As part of Silver Jubilee Celebrations, Fr. Joseph Puthenpurakal engaged students and parents with two different training sessions on 8th November 2019. Students' training session was between 10 am to 11am. Fr. Joseph Puthenpurakal trained parents from 11.30 am to 1 pm on the topic 'Parenting'. 315 parents attended the programme.
As part of the year long Jubilee celebrations of the college, the students under the initiative of ED club organized a mega student market. Various departments set up different stalls exhibiting various products such as home grown vegetables, fruits and home made snacks. The parents, teachers, non teaching staff and students participated in the program actively. The students earned a gross amount of 35000 rupees as sales revenue. The programme was officially inaugurated by Rev Fr Joseph Puthenpurackal OFM, a renowned speaker and spiritual guide in the presence of Rev Fr George Puthuparambil,the local manager, Fr Dino Kummanikkattu the bursar of the college and Rev Sr Mathukutty Alex the principal of the college. Basic Life Support (BLS) is a level of first-aid resuscitation that can be used in emergency situations until victims are placed into the care of medical professionals.

Womens Club – Manini - & Counselling club of St. Pius X College conducted a mega counseling on 13 August 2019. The programme was done in collaboration with Snehitha – Gender help desk, Kanhangad. Through this programme many students were able to identify their week points and could rectify it. It was a very helpful and motivating programme. This State level seminar was aimed to benefit UG and PG students, faculties, and research scholars. The state level seminar covered all important aspects of Intellectual Property Rights including discoveries of novel product and its Patents, Trademarks etc. During the valedictory function, Dr. Asha Chacko, Vice Principal and head, Dept. Students and faculties from the department of computer science visited St Joseph's special school chullikkara on 17/06/2019.Social interaction is a cornerstone of the modern college experience so this program helped them to explore etiquette guidelines for interacting with students with disabilities.

The NCC Unit of St. Pius X College conducted world environment day on June 6. This activity were carried out under the dynamic leadership of Lt. Thomas Scaria (Head Department of Computer Science). 36 cadets become a part of it. Every cadets planted one tree for the earth. The Principal of St. Pius X college, inaugurated this activity. Along with environment day cadets cleaned the campus under the Slogan ‘Swatch Bharath’ NSS coordinator Smt. Jincymol Joseph (Dept. of Computer Science), Dr. Satheesh kumar R (HOD of Economics) and Dr. George Mammen (HOD of Hindi) address the activity. It’s a great pleasure that cadets become a part of this nature. The NCC could get involved in a host of this activity that is of immerse use to the cadets as well as to the society.
An Academic retreat for the academic year 2019-20 is held on 24/05/2019 at St Pius X College, Rajapuram. Manager His Excellency Mar Joseph Pandarasseril , Pro Manager Rev. Fr. Jose Nedungattu, Local Manager George Puthuparambil , Principal Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex , all the teaching staffs and non teaching staff attended the retreat.
Second seminar on FOSS was held on 23rd March 2019. The classes were handled by Mr. Mithun A.V, Assistant Professor, Nehru Arts and Science College, Kanhangad, Kasargod, Kerala. The classes were divided into four sessions. Two sessions in the morning and two sessions in the afternoon. The first session was about FOSS Awareness session and free software’s. The second was about Linux file system, Linux Installation. The third was about Permissions, Some Linux commands. The last one was about IPR.

St.Pius X College celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March,2019 . A rally was conducted in which all the lady staff and girl students participated. Dr Asha Chacko, Co Ordinator , Manini(Women's cell) inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Principal Dr. Sr. Marykkutty Alex presided the meeting , Felicitation was given by Sri Manojkumar, President , JCI Chullikkara . Various cultural activities by girls from all departments enriched the function.The programme ended up with a dance by all the women attended the programme. JCI Chullikkara sponsored caps and T-Shirts.

Remarkable achievement for St Pius X College Rajapuram in the Kannur University finearts festival held at NASC kanhangad during feb 6-10. Total 74 students of the institution contested in different events including 7 group and 37 individual items. Kannada Drama won the prize with A grade and Layana of II DC Economics selected as best actress. Other important highlights are Margamkali - II prize with A grade, Parichamuttukali- III prize with A grade, Tabala-II prize with A grade(I DC, Computer Science), Hindi poem writing - III Prize with A grade ( Unnimaya, I DC, Physics). Other events like Yakshaganam, Kolkali, Nadan pattu and Group songs got A grade in the competition.
Department of computer science in association with SPACE conducted an IT quiz. Competition was conducted in 2 stages first stage was preliminary round conducted on 31/01/2019 where 5 teams out of 10 teams from different departments where selected through an examination of qualifying .The second stage was conducted on 05/02/2019 afternoon 1:30 pm in collage auditorium. The 5 teams competed gone through 4 different rounds ( question answer round, picture identification round, puzzle round and rapid fire) and gained maximum points to win the competition. Jeedash & Yadhu from 3rd DC physics won the first prize in the competition. Anuraj and Amal of 3rd B Com, Nandakumar and Akhil of 2nd physics consecutively 2nd and 3 rd prize.Sri. Santhosh C, Assistant Professor and HOD, Department of Commerce, E.K.N.M. Government College, congratulated the winners and awarded them with cash prizes.

An Extension Training Programme for the women in the locality was organized by the Women Cell of St. Pius X College, Rajapuram at 2o clock on Friday, 3/12/2018. The session was led by Mrs. Daisy Cherickalath, coordinator of Thalasserry Social Service Society, Panathady Branch. Practical demonstration of preparation of three household items ie.,Detergent powder, Dish wash and Hand wash using specific kit, was conducted. Sr. (Dr.) Marykutty Alex, Principal ,St. Pius X College chaired the session. Dr. Shiju Jacob, Assistant coordinator, Women Cell, delivered welcome speech and Ms. Varsha Rajan delivered vote of thanks. Mushroom cultivation orientation programme for the members of thabore credit union of Thalassery Archdiocese was organised by the microbiology department of St. Pius X College Rajapuram on 24/11/2018. The session was led by Mr. Shelvin T Kuriakose , Lecturer in department of microbiology .Practical demonstration of mushroom bed preparation was also conducted after orientation class .Credit union president Mr Nidhin Chooranolil delivered welcome speech and secretary Mrs. Mary Chirackal delivered vote of thanks .
An Essay Writing Competition on 27th July 2018 on the topic “My Idea of an Ideal Person”. We conducted this programme in collaboration with the Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Kasaragod district. In the competition, Kum. Arya Gireesh, I BBA bagged the first prize of Rs. 1000/-. Second and Third prize scored by the department of BBA and Microbiology respectively. Moreover, the selected essays sent to participate at the state level competition.
ED club was officially inaugurated on MSME day, June 28th 2018, by Mr Jain K , Assistant General Manager, DIC, Kasaragod. Dr K Anil Kumar, the principal, chaired the session. A team of trainers from the District Industrial Centre, Kanhangad handled a session on ‘Entrepreneurship in Kerala’. Around 90 students attended the function.
The ED club, along with the cooperation of BBA department, established in our college a new venture known as ‘Business Incubation Centre’ (BIC). The purpose of this venture is to provide infrastructural and consultation facilities at the BIC for both students and people of the locality for venturing into entrepreneurship. The DIC has offered all governmental support for this venture. It is platform offered by the club, BBA department and DIC, Kasaragod for encouraging entrepreneurship in this area.
The World MSME day was celebrated by the ED Club of the College on 27/06/2018. A Business Incubation Centre was inaugurated by the ED Club with cooperation of the Department of Management Studies and District Industrial Centre, Kasaragod. The Centre aims to offer a platform to the students and local community to start new ventures. All consultancy services will be provided in this platform free of cost. Anisha Jose II BA Economics selected in Kannur University Kabady Team for All India Interuniversity Kabady Championship.Maneeh K P III BA Economics won gold medal in Kannur University Weight Lifting Championship.Viswajith (I Computer Science) and Abdul Rehman won Silver Medal in Kannur University Intercollegiate Weight lifting Championship.Viswajith also selected as Best Physique in Kannur University. Intercollegiate Boxing Championship is to be held at St.Pius X college on 3rd week of February.
