Bhoomithrasena Club

Bhoomithra sena club is an initiative of Directorate of Environment & Climate Change under Department of Environment and Climate change . The aim of Bhoomithra sena club is to take up environmental protection activities and awareness extension activities in the vicinity of the college. The Bhoomithra sena club of St Pius X College Rajapuram is aimed at encouraging college students to appreciate the environment and to react positively to environmental issues. The club organizes various activities like seminars lectures field visits and talks on environmental issues. Other activities include cleaning and maintaining the polluted or environmentally degraded sites planting and maintaining trees in the campus. Bhoomithra sena club is introduced in our college in February 2019. Bhoomithra sena club activities include the following


Bhoomithrasena club of St. Pius X College Rajapuram in association with the Directorate of Environment and Climate change, Government of Kerala organised a one day field trip on 18/03/2019 to the man-made forest at Parappa owned by Mr. Abdul Kareem. The forest is founded and maintained by environmentalist Mr. Kareem. It is a great place for nature lovers. 19 students and 3 teachers of the club were participated in the trip. Mr. Kareem, the creator of 28 acres of forest explained the features of medicinal plants and water resources in the forest. He pointed out the importance of saving trees and plants and discussed about environmental protection, energy conservation and climate change. We have spent around 3 hours in the place. People who visit this forest will return only with an intention to save nature in every way they can.


Bhoomithrasena club of St. Pius X college Rajapuram celebrated World Water day. As a part of it Club members planted various medicinal saplings in the campus on 22nd March. Around 20 students were participated in the programme. Club coordinators Mrs. Parvathi. E and Dr. Monisha. P J leaded the activities.


Bhoomithrasena club of St. Pius X college Rajapuram celebrated World forest day in Association with Environment and climate change directorate kerala. Bhoomithrasena club conducted a seminar on 21st March. Dr. K. Anil kumar, HOD Microbiology Made a speech on the topic 'Nammude Bhoomi Nammude Kaikalil'. Principal Dr. Sr. Marykutti Alex Presided over the function. Bhoomithrasena club coordinator Mrs. Parvathi. E made welcome speech and Dr. Monisha .P.J faculty, Department of Physics expressed vote of thanks.


The Bhoomithrasena club of St. Pius x college Rajapuram celebrated Biodiversity day on May22.The theme of 2019 edition will be 'Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health. Principal Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex delivered a speech to improve the understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. Bhoomithrasena club members planted variety of saplings in the campus to mark the importance of the day


In co operation with NSS unit, 'Bhoomithra Sena' club of St.Pius X College, Rajapuram planted 300 Neem saplings in the campus. Principal Dr. Sr. Marykutty Alex inauguarated the programme. Kallar Grama Panchayath provided 1000 saplings. 300 saplings were planted in the campus and the remaining saplings were distributed among students. Bhoomithra Sena club co-ordinators, Mrs. Parvathi E, Dr. Monisha P J and NSS co-ordinators Mrs. Jincymol Joseph, Dr. N V Vinod leaded the programme.


Bhoomithra Sena Club of St.Pius College, Rajapuram conducted a quiz programme on 19th July,2019.Around 15 students were participated in the programme. Shobhith S (III DC Micro Biology) & Ann Mary (II DC Economics) got First prize and Sreelakshmi S and Aswathi (II DC Micro Biology) got second prize. Club co-ordinators Mrs.Parvathi E, Dr.Monisha PJ, Dr.Vinod NV leaded the programme.The winners were represented the college in the Green Quiz conducted by the Green leaf Agri-horticulture Society, Kannur.

As a part of Green Kerala Mission, Bhoomithra Sena Club of St. Pius X college of Rajapuram, launched an initiative named "Penfriend" Project in the college on 25th July,2019.The aim of the project is to collect used pen and make it available for reuse. Bhoomithra Sena members provided the special card board boxes to each class to deposit the used pen and detailed the objectives of the projects to the students.
