This Club seeks to create awareness on environmental issues through its activities. Currently around forty five students have taken membership in the Nature Club; they are lead by a staff coordinator. They are provided opportunities to study and admire the environment and thereby understand the need to conserve nature's bounty. The Nature Club which has “Nurture Nature for the Future” as its motto, observes Environmental Week every year, with activities related to its objectives. They also conducted certain competitions for students to increase their love for nature and develop awareness about its conservation. Our college campus has ecologically diverse area since it is a part of Western Ghats. Considering the importance of maintaining a biodiversity register, in this year we have started a plant biodiversity register by availing the expertise of two plant taxonomists and identified and prepared the plant diversity data register.
In the upcoming year the nature club has planned various activities which include nature camps for bird watching expeditions, guest lectures, photography/poster competitions within the campus, formation of butterfly garden etc. So if the poetry of Wordsworth rivets you, you’re a ‘natural’ for this club.
